Matthew Swantko is a
graduate of Western Michigan University, with a Bachelor of Business
Degree. Matt has been a commercial real estate broker since 1989,
initially joining D.A. Swantko & Associates. In 1994, he partnered with
his father, Dan Swantko, and Glenn Hirsch in forming
Source Real
Estate & Investment Company. He and Dan still own and operate Source
where Matt is the President. Matt initially cut his teeth in the
business doing land acquisition for power centers and big box
retailers. Over his career he has also been very active in marketing
and leasing shopping centers, land and various commercial
properties/projects. In the last ten years, Matt has become very active
in locating and acquiring restaurant sites. Matt currently represents

In 1989, after graduating college
and taking his first job, Matt was asked by his father, Dan, if he wanted to
“give the real estate business a try” for a year and see what he thought
about it. Well, to say the least, the trial period went well and 18
years later Dan and Matt are still together and thriving. In 1994 they
formed a new company and moved it to Southfield, thus began
Source
Real Estate & Investment Company. Source has specialized in
retail brokerage from the beginning and has been a leader in tenant
representation for more than 10 years now. Source has also been
very successful in land acquisition work for the development community
as well as the marketing and leasing of first class retail properties
throughout Michigan.
Although Source at one time was a larger
firm employing many agents and brokers, Dan and Matt felt that this
detracted from their ability to give 100% of their attention to their
clients and as a result have downsized in order to make their clients,
their sole focus. This means that their clients will not be passed on to an
underling when doing business at Source – You will be handled by
an experienced principal who will provide you with truly professional
and knowledgeable service. This means YOU WILL be represented with
integrity and honesty; YOU WILL get the benefit of our decades of
experience; YOU WILL get a return phone call; and YOU WILL get the
utmost in professionalism.
And don’t think that Source can’t keep up with the
large firms - Source has the latest in demographics, aerials, and mapping.
On the representation side, Source provides
their clients with comprehensive
market information to which, quite frankly, the average retail broker
just doesn’t have access. Also, because of their ties to the retail and
restaurant market, Source also can provide
access to buyers/tenants that they may not normally receive. Source also prides
itself on their good relationships within the brokerage community. Source
won't shy away
from deals because there is a co-broker on the other end…In fact they
welcome them.
If this sounds like the type of personal
attention that you always wished you would get from another firm, give
Source Real Estate a try. We think that you will not only be glad
that you did…You will be extremely happy with the results.
